I've been feeling obligated to go down to the tidal basin to shoot the cherry blossoms this Spring. This morning I rode my bike down to the basin (thankfully I work near by!) at sunrise, and snapped some photos. My favorite shot is of the birdie, getting his [early worm] breakfast. The blossoms didn't have the best showing this year because of the late cold front DC got, but a good percentage of them held up.
I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the #Hirshorn Museum and my friend Shelbie came along, too. I usually don't take my camera to museums, as I find I don't enjoy the artwork as much when I'm thinking about photos. But I'm glad I took my camera to this exhibit, and if you aren't able to make the trip, hopefully this gives you a satisfactory glimpse!

A few weekends ago I got the pleasure of taking photos of a family that heard about me through word of mouth.. I took pictures of Lexi, her husband Ben, and their baby, Dominic. I had taken photos for Lexi's sister's son, Grant, in the past, so it was really cool to take photos of Dominic, his cousin. We went to the Iwo Jima memorial, wandered a bit while taking photos, and took in the nice view of DC!
